System Redesign & Implementation Infrastructure
We focus on helping secondary schools and their surrounding districts move from aspirations to meaningful redesign by integrating community schools, MTSS, instructional transformation, student agency, and career‑connected learning into a coherent change strategy. Building on RedesignEd’s statewide network and Inflexion’s experience in community schools, leadership development, and regional capacity building, this work strengthens the district conditions necessary for innovation—shifting policy, staffing, budgeting, governance, and professional learning so schools can truly transform rather than implement isolated initiatives.redesign features.
Through hyper‑local networks that connect schools, districts, county offices, higher education, and community partners, the approach creates regional ecosystems where effective practices can be observed, adapted, and scaled. By identifying replicable processes for redesign and providing a common infrastructure—including the AI‑enabled Navigator, workshops, coaching, site visits, and peer learning—the goal is to build lasting local capacity so districts and communities can sustain and spread transformation long after external support ends.
Talent Development & Thought Leadership
RedesignEd strengthens the human and intellectual capacity needed for lasting secondary transformation by developing educators and leaders prepared to teach in and lead redesigned schools, and by advancing thought leadership that shapes the broader field. In partnership with 2Revolutions and postsecondary institutions such as Loyola Marymount University, this work builds learner‑centered, competency‑based pathways for teachers, principals, district leaders, and boards—grounded in real redesign challenges and supported through clinical learning environments, mentorship, and aligned leadership development. At the same time, we elevate research, case studies, practitioner stories, tools, and convenings that illuminate how transformation actually happens, helping local networks, statewide partners, and national audiences distinguish what is context‑specific from what can be replicated. Together, these efforts create a powerful engine for change: developing the people who will lead and sustain redesigned systems, and translating emerging learning into knowledge that can influence practice and policy across the country.
Our Book
The Future of Public Education: One District’s Journey to Transform Schools and Systems presents both a rich narrative and compelling evidence for how school districts and their communities can transform their system of teaching and learning to prepare their students for our rapidly changing world. Penned by Barnett Berry, Mike Matsuda, and Michael Fullan, the book traces the decade-long journey of Anaheim Union High School District in putting together the interaction of 8-Factors for systemness. The book also points to what the district did not get done—and why—and what a roadmap to the future looks like. Essential moves: A renewed, community-wide North Star for public education, anchored in a reimagined teaching profession—with teachers and students together.
The book is about how in deeply divided society, political consensus can be found in a shared purpose of preparing every student with the real world skills necessary for social and economic mobility as well as prepare them to effectively contribute to a safe, civil society.
